1. Allah-Rakha Rahman has been named the Cultural Ambassador for Seychelles for his contribution in enhancing the country’s Art and Culture Development. A. R. Rahman was chosen for the 2015 Hridaynath Mangeskar Award.

2. Veteran music director and lyricist Ravindra Jain passed away.

3. National Dialogue Quartet (NDQ) in Tunisia has won prestigious 2015 Nobel Peace Prize. It was awarded for its decisive contribution to the building of a pluralistic democracy in Tunisia in the wake of Jasmine revolution of 2011.

4. An untitled self-portrait of renowned modernist painter Amrita Sher-Gil was sold for around 17 crore rupees in London.

5. Renowned Carnatic flautist Dr. Natesan Ramani passed away in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Ramani performed his first concert on All India Radio in 1945.


6. Retail major Future Group tied-up with Baba Ramdev-promoted Patanjali Ayurved to sell the Patanjali's FMCG products on its stores with plans for joint manufacturing in future. With this partnership, Patanjali's FMCG products will be sold on Future Group's Big Bazaar, KB's and EasyDay outlets across India.

7. Rajasthan Government unveiled the Rajasthan Startup Policy 2015. The policy was launched with an aim to establish 50 incubator organizations in next five years.

8. European Union Naval Force for Mediterranean (EUNAVFOR MED) launched second phase of Operation Sophia. Its aim is to undertake systematic efforts to identify, capture and dispose of vessels as well as enabling assets used or suspected of being used by migrant smugglers or traffickers.

10. BRICS nations viz. Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa have issued a Joint Declaration to ensure orderly and legal migration amongst member nations and respect human rights.

11. Andhra Pradesh Government launched Andhra Pradesh State Enterprise Architecture (APSEA). It is alternatively called as e-Pragati project.

12. Delhi Government made swine flu vaccination mandatory for high-risk groups.

13. Kerala government launched the Operation Valsalya project to trace, rescue and reunite the missing children with their family.

15. India-China Joint Military Training Exercise HAND-IN-HAND 2015 will be conducted at Kunming Military Academy of Yunnan province in China. It will be the fifth joint military exercise in the Hand-in-Hand series between armies of both countries which had started in 2007.

16. India and Ecuador has signed a Protocol for the establishment of the India-Ecuador Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) to enhance bilateral trade and investment relations.

17. Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company launched LED tube light scheme in Mumbai for its residential consumer. Under the scheme, Tata will provide five lights to each household at 525 rupees per piece against market price of 1325 rupees.

18. Forbes released the inaugural list of Forbes' 50 richest families in Asia.The list was topped by Lee (Byung-Chull) family of South Korea with 26.6 billion dollar.

19. India’s first Dolphin Community Reserve will be established in West Bengal to protect the endangered mammal, Gangetic river dolphins. Their population is estimated to be less than 2,000 in the country.


 20. Tapan Ray was appointed to the Board of capital market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). Ray succeeded Anjuly Chib Duggal on the SEBI board.

21. Shekhar Basu has been appointed as the Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) and Secretary of Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).
