1. UCO Bank was listed as the worst performer among the public sector banks (PSU banks) for registering the highest increase in gross non-performing assets (NPAs) in percentage terms against total loans for last fiscal year, as disclosed in recently released data by the RBI.

WHO (World Health Organisation), UNICEF, Rotary International and others are donor partners for Mission Indradhanush.

6. For the first time less than 10 per cent of the world’s population will be living in extreme poverty by the end of 2015- World Bank. The world is moving closer to the historic goal of ending poverty by 2030. President Jim Yong Kim- World Bank (Washington, US)

7. Three scientists Youyou Tu (China), Satoshi Omura (Japan) and William Campbell (Ireland) have won 2015 Nobel Prize for Physiology or MedicineJapan's Takaaki Kajita and Canada's Arthur B. McDonald won the 2015 Nobel Prize for Physics for their discovery that neutrinos have mass. The Nobel comes with prize money of 8 million Swedish kroner or 1.1 million dollars.

8. Ashish Bahuguna, the Chairman of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) was given an additional charge of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FSSAI.

9. Luis Leao Pinto of Portugal has won 2015 MTB Himalaya Title, Asia’s premier mountain biking race for the second time in the Solo Men’s category.

10. Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) is expected to take 10 percent stake in the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India or TAPI natural gas pipeline project.

11. Union Government unveiled KISAN Project [C(K)rop Insurance using Space technology And geoiNformatics] of Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers’ Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare.



12. Shashank Manohar has been elected unopposed as President of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the second term. BCCI was established in 1928 by replacing Calcutta Cricket Club.

13. Sumit Issar has been appointed as the new Managing Director for Mahindra Intertrade Ltd (MIL) and Mahindra Steel Service Centre Ltd (MSSCL).

14. India’s e-commerce giant, Flipkart appointed Sriram Venkataraman as the new Chief Finance Officer (CFO) for its commerce platform (CP).

15. 26th edition of the Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) between India and Indonesia began in the Andaman Sea.

16. Veteran Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award during the closing ceremony of the 6th Jagran Film Festival in Mumbai. 

17. Sania Mirza and her Swiss partner Martina Hingis have won the 2015 Wuhan Open Women’s Doubles Trophy. They earlier had won the Indian Wells Open, Miami Open, Charleston Opem, Wimbledon, US Open and Guangzhou Open in 2015 season.

18.  China won the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Asia Championship by defeating the Philippines in the final.

19. Tiruchirapalli City Municipal Corporation was awarded with Skoch Smart Governance Award for Achieving Operational Excellence in Waste Transportation using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) based solutions.

20. California allowed terminally ill patients to legally end their lives under a doctor’s supervision after state governor Jerry Brown signed the bill into law.California became the fifth state in United States to allow terminally ill patients to legally end their lives. Other four are Oregon, Washington, Vermont and Montana.

21. Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik launched a Citizen Portal, which enables the citizens to lodge their complaints online to the state police through internet.

22. Telangana Government announced 50 percent subsidy on purchase of seeds.

23. United States (US), Japan and 10 other Pacific Rim countries on signed the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement to lower trade barriers, bolster worker protections and set standards for a raft of other industries. 10 other countries of the Pacific Rim which signed the agreement are Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.

25. Renowned and bestselling Swedish crime writer Henning Mankell passed away.

26. Renowned Telugu Cinema Producer Edida Nageswara Rao passed.
