1. Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli of Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist)-CPN-UML was elected as new Prime Minister of Nepal. Nepal is the world's 93rd largest country by area and the 41st most populous country.

2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone of fourth terminal of country’s largest container port – Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) in Mumbai.

3. India and Jordan have signed six Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) in various fields. These MoUs were signed in presence of Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and Indian President Pranab Mukherjee in Amman.

4. Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton of Britain won 2015 Russian Grand Prix title of Formula One.This was his overall ninth victory of the season. Earlier he had won Australia, China, Bahrain, Canada, United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy and Japanese 2015 Grand Prix titles of F1. 2nd position: Sebastian Vettel (Germany) of Ferrari.

5. Punjab National Bank (PNB) has won the 2015 Beighton Cup hockey tournament.

6. Novak Djokovic won the 2015  China Open Men’s Singles title by defeating Rafael Nadal of Spain. He won eight titles in the 2015 season that include Indian Wells Masters, Miami Open, Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, Italian Open and China Open, UK (Wimbledon) and USA.

7. Ajay Jayaram has won 2015 Dutch Open Grand Prix badminton tournament. Earlier, Jayaram has won 3 international badminton titles namely New Zealand Open (2009), Thailand Open (2010) and Czech Open (2013).

8. Spain’s Garbine Muguruza captured the China Open women's singles title by defeating Switzerland's Timea Bacsinszky. 

9. Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis won women's doubles title of the China Tennis Open 2015. This was eighth title of the season as a team for Sania-HingisThe other seven titles are Indian Wells, Miami, Charleston, Wimbledon, US Open, Guangzhou and Wuhan.

10. India won the four-match Men's Hockey Test series against New Zealand 2-1.

11. Microeconomist born in Edinburgh Angus Deaton won the 2015 Nobel Prize in Economics. He was awarded for his analysis of consumption, poverty, and welfare. 

12. Annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund were held 2015 in the Peruvian capital Lima. The meetings were held in Tokyo (Japan) in 2012. So far, India hosted the meetings only once i.e. in 1958. Peru is a country in South America, Capital: Lima; Currency: Peruvian nuevo sol; Prime minister: Pedro Cateriano Bellido.

13. The 5th meeting of the India-Maldives Joint Commission was held in Male, the capital of Maldives.

14. NASA released a report titled NASA’s Journey to Mars: Pioneering Next Steps in Space Exploration. The document contains plan for establishing permanent settlements and creating deep-space habitation facilities on the red planet Mars by 2030s.

15. Geoffrey Howe, Britain’s former treasury chief, died due to a suspected cardiac arrest in Idlicote, England.

16. Legendary Tamil actress Gopishantha, popularly known by her stage name Manorama, died.

16. Private sector lender YES Bank has got the RBI's approval to set up a mutual fund, asset management company (AMC) and a trustee company.

17. Odisha Government launched Mission Abaas, state’s urban housing mission, to provide affordable houses to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Low Income Groups (LIG) and slum dwellers.
